▌ ROHS Certification

RoHS certification is also called environmental certification, which is in line with European and American standards. It is the "Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment", which stipulates that if electrical and electronic products contain harmful heavy metals such as lead Pb, Cd, mercury Hg, hexavalent Cr6+, polyvinyl diphenyl ether PBDE and polyvinyl biphenyl PBB, the EU will ban imports from July 1, 2006.

▌ The specific product scope of the ROHS directive includes but is not limited to:

● Large household appliances: such as refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, etc.

● Small household appliances: such as vacuum cleaners, coffee machines, electric fans, etc.

● Information technology equipment: such as computers, mobile phones, printers, etc.

● Consumer electronics: such as audio, video cameras, game consoles, etc.

● Lighting equipment: such as lamps, LED lights, etc.

● Electronic toys and entertainment equipment: such as electronic game consoles, remote control cars, etc.

● Medical equipment: such as medical instruments, monitoring equipment, etc.

● Automation and control equipment: such as industrial automation equipment, power tools, etc.

The ROHS Directive does not apply to all products. Certain products and components may be exempted or subject to special restrictions. Therefore, in specific cases, companies need to study the scope of application of the ROHS Directive and ensure that their products comply with the relevant restrictions.

▌ Restricted substances and scope of ROHS

The main substances restricted by the ROHS directive include the following 10:

The limit threshold for these substances is 0.1% (1000ppm), except for lead which has a limit threshold of 0.1% (1000ppm), while the limit threshold for other substances is 0.01% (100ppm).

The limit values of these harmful substances are measured in mass percentage (%) or mass parts per million (ppm). The content of these substances in the product cannot exceed the corresponding limit value, otherwise it will not meet the requirements of the ROHS directive.
