The Conformity Assessment Procedure (PVOC) implemented and enforced by the National Bureau of Standards (TBS). All regulated products covered by the PVOC procedure must be inspected and the products must comply with Tanzanian national standards and other recognized standards, on which basis a Certificate of Conformity (COC) is issued. The procedure started on December 31, 2011.

According to the latest news from Tanzania, Tanzania will implement product conformity certification COC from February 1, 2012. All products in the Tanzania control catalog list need to apply for COC before shipment, otherwise they cannot be cleared at the destination port. Unlike the previous Tanzania shipment inspection, Tanzania COC must be applied before shipment, and COC cannot be supplemented once the goods have left the port. In addition, Tanzania COC also requires submission of product test reports and other information for document review. Only after the review is passed can pre-shipment inspection and COC certificate be arranged.
