▌ SEDEX audit content

Sedex/Smeta
SMETA is the audit method of Sedex and one of the three major social responsibility audit methods in the world. Its audit mode is divided into two modules (Sedex 2 pilar) and four modules (Sedex 4 pilar). Generally, factories only need to do 2-Pillar. It is rare to do Sedex 4 pillar, which mainly depends on customer requirements.

The second module (Sedex 2 pilar) mainly audits: labor standards, health and safety, and additional elements (management system, labor rights, subcontracting and home working, environmental reduction version).

▌ SEDEX rating results

*Desktop: Non-conformities found during the audit, such as lack of catering service license, can be closed on the CAP by submitting the corrected pictures to the auditor. Once the auditor accepts the pictures, the non-conformity will be marked as "D"
*Follow-up: Non-conformities found during the audit, such as insufficient wage payment, must be followed up in a second on-site audit. Such non-conformities will be marked as "F". SMETA audits do not issue certificates, only PDF audit reports are provided. The report does not contain audit scores, grades, or conclusions on whether or not the audit was passed. Factories that have completed Sedex certification will receive a factory code Z (& ZS number, which can be checked on the Sedex official website.

▌Certification Fees
The cost of Sedex/Smeta and SEDEX certification varies according to different types of factories and auditor days. The overall cost of SEDEX certification includes: audit fee + consulting fee + rectification fee. The total cost is directly related to the size of the factory, buyer requirements, audit company, and consulting company.
