▌ Wrap factory inspection

WRAP, or "Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production", is the abbreviation of Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production. The WRAP standard is formulated by the Worldwide Social Responsibility Organization for Apparel Production, with the aim of improving the human rights situation of clothing manufacturers around the world. Currently, WRAP is the largest social responsibility certification organization in the apparel industry, recognized by more than 100 international brands. Foreign buyers can find factories through the WRAP official website (there are about 2,200 factories worldwide and about 800 in China). Passing WRAP certification and obtaining a WRAP certificate is a pass to export to overseas markets.

WRAP certificates are divided into three levels: Platinum, Gold and Silver. Buyers generally require a Gold certificate.

▌ Wrap factory inspection scoring criteria:

platinum	2 years	To be eligible for a WRAP Platinum Certificate, a company must have been a WRAP Gold Certificate holder for at least three consecutive years. All companies that are issued a Platinum Certificate must have successfully passed every WRAP Certification Audit, taken no corrective actions, and continued to participate in WRAP Certification without any gaps. (Companies that have a gap in certification for any reason can only be issued a Gold Certificate, and must have obtained a Gold Certificate for at least two consecutive years to be eligible for a Platinum Certificate again).
gold	1 year	If a company fails to provide complete and accurate information on wages and working hours during any WRAP certification audit (initial audit, annual audit or surprise audit), it will automatically lose the qualification for Platinum and Gold certificates. This means that as long as the company violates WRAP Principles 5 and 6, when the auditing agency finds that the company has problems with record keeping of these two items or the company cannot provide consistent supporting documents, the company will therefore receive a Silver certificate.
Silver	1 year	If the WRAP certification audit results show that the company is in basic compliance with the WRAP production principles, but only minor changes are needed in terms of policies, production processes or training, the company can apply for a "Silver Certificate". Companies that meet these conditions must submit their request for a Silver Certificate in writing to WRAP after completing their first formal audit. The "Silver Certificate" will not be automatically issued and effective.

01. Simulated self-assessment

Relevant managers within the factory, in accordance with the requirements of WRAP factory inspection, set up a self-assessment team or hire a professional consulting agency to conduct a simulated assessment of the factory itself, find out loopholes or problems, and improve the deficiencies. When the management team believes that the factory basically meets the requirements of WRAP factory inspection, it can submit a certification application report to the WRAP Council to apply for WRAP factory inspection.

02. Data Collection

After the application is approved, the WRAP Audit Committee authorizes the factory management team to make an appointment with any supervisor on the list of supervisors registered by the committee according to the schedule. The supervisor will review the factory and decide whether the factory complies with the WRAP audit principles, whether to grant certification, and some supervisory opinions based on the review report.

03. Analysis

After the supervisor issues a recommendation letter that meets the standards, the factory can formally submit a certification request to the WRAP Factory Inspection Committee. After accepting the report, the certification committee will list the detailed validity period of the certification and urge the factory to accept random inspections to review the certification results.
