CE certification is a compulsory certification in the EU market (EU member states/Turkey) and is regarded as a passport for manufacturers to open and enter the European market. Whether it is a product produced by an enterprise within the EU or a product produced in other countries, if it wants to circulate freely in the EU market, it must be marked with the CE mark to indicate that the product complies with the basic requirements of the EU's "New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standardization" directive. This is a mandatory requirement for products under EU law.

27 EU member states: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden

Products with the CE abbreviation symbol and affixed with the CE mark meet the main requirements of the relevant European directives and are used to prove that the product has passed the corresponding conformity assessment procedures and/or the manufacturer's declaration of conformity, which has become a pass for the product to be allowed to enter the European Community market for sale. Industrial products that require the CE mark to be affixed with the relevant directives shall not be put on the market without the CE mark. Products that have been affixed with the CE mark and entered the market, if found not to meet safety requirements, shall be ordered to be withdrawn from the market. Those who continue to violate the directive's provisions on the CE mark will be restricted or prohibited from entering the EU market or forced to withdraw from the market.

Note: The CE mark is a safety certification mark rather than a quality certification mark.
