According to Article 8 of Chapter 3 of Iraqi Law No. 54, the Iraqi Central Organization for Standards and Quality Control (COSQC) implements the ICIGI program to restrict the import of substandard, counterfeit and inferior products into Iraq and protect its domestic consumers, producers, environment and public safety. The Iraqi Central Organization for Standards and Quality Control (COSQC) has implemented the ICIGI program for goods exported to Iraq. This project started on May 1, 2011. All products under the control of the ICIGI program must be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) or a Release Note when imported into Iraq. The product certificate of conformity is a document required for customs clearance of goods and is used for customs clearance of goods in Iraq. Iraq CoC is a compulsory certification, applied by exporters, and used for customs clearance of importers at the port of destination. All products in the Iraqi control catalog must be processed and are a one-time customs clearance document.
