Project Overview
Kenya COC certification is a mandatory customs clearance document in Kenya. Without this certificate, goods will be refused entry upon arrival at Kenyan ports. In order to ensure the quality of imported products, the health and safety of Kenyans and the protection of the environment, they must comply with Kenya's technical regulations and mandatory standards or approved equivalent standards. The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS-a statutory body of the Kenyan government responsible for formulating and implementing standards for imported and domestic products for the Kenyan market) implements the Pre-Export Verification of Conformity to Standards (PVoC) program for goods imported into the country. All goods in the PVoC catalog must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by a KEBS authorized agency before shipment.
Certification Process
1. Provide PVOC application form, import declaration form IDF, packing list, invoice, etc.), and make an appointment for inspection and loading (please make an appointment two to three working days in advance)
2. Submit application, review customer information and confirm inspection and loading time with customer
3. Send the fee notice and inspection notice to the customer one working day before the inspection and inform the customer of the inspector's information
4. The inspector will carry out on-site cargo inspection and loading supervision at the agreed time.
5. After the inspection is completed, the customer submits the final information and the COC draft is sent to the customer for verification and confirmation two working days later
6. After the draft is confirmed, the original copy will be issued in about 3 working days.
