Starting from January 1, 2024, TE-ID will replace the License Number and Facility Number and will not change with renewal or changes in the certification body (CB); TE-ID registration website: https://textileexchange.org/te-id/

What you need to pay special attention to about TE-ID is:

It is presented as an 11-digit alphanumeric combination, specifically TE-XXXXXXXX (8 digits)

TE-ID replaces the License Number and Facility Number and does not change with renewal or changes in the certification body (CB)

Associated certified subcontractors also need to register for TE-ID, and only certified persons can register on their behalf

Except for the associated certification subcontractors, the TE-ID of the certification body is public information.

TE will assign TE-ID to each certification body (CB) for certified companies and unlicensed subcontractors in dTrackit

1. When can I apply for a TE-ID?

An organization seeking initial certification can begin registering its TE-ID after signing a contract with its certification body and obtaining a client code/license number from its certification body.

2. Is the TE-ID application currently only for SC certificates issued after January 1, 2024? Do those who have already issued SC certificates need to apply for them?

For first-time certification customers who have completed the audit but have not yet issued the certificate, or have signed the contract but are waiting for on-site audit, please register and apply for TE-ID as soon as possible.

The TE-IDs of customers who have been issued certificates as of December 31, 2023 (i.e. customers who already have certificates before December 31, 2023, regardless of which CB issued the certificates) and subcontractors associated with the customer certificates will be allocated by TE and provided to the CB for query purposes (2 batches have been received, and the last batch of certificates issued as of December 31, 2023 will be provided in January), but registration is still required.

Whether a TE-ID has been assigned and whether registration has been completed are two different issues. If the certified enterprise has not registered, it is not possible to add a facility or change the basic information of the enterprise on the website.

3. After applying for TE-ID, will the TE-ID be sent to the certification body at the same time after it is issued? Does the customer need to notify the certification body of his/her TE-ID by himself/herself?

TE has collected email addresses from various certification bodies. After a customer successfully registers, the certification body they choose to cooperate with will normally receive an email notification at the same time. It is still recommended that customers forward the email of successful TE-ID registration to your business personnel at SGS after receiving it to avoid information errors.

4. How long does it usually take for TE to issue a TE-ID after a customer applies?

TE informed that after receiving the customer's registration application, it will be reviewed and issued within 7 calendar days, but if TE has questions about the information filled in for the company registration, it may take longer.
