Hello, welcome to the official website of Jiangsu Youchuang Testing and Certification Technology Co., Ltd.!
BSCI factory audit requires suppliers to ensure that all subcontractors involved in the production process on behalf of BSCI members until the final production stage comply with the BSCI Code of Conduct. Factory audits can only be conducted after authorization by the end customer BSCI member. The audits are mainly conducted on company certificate data, management model, employee human rights, workplace production facilities, fire equipment, living facilities, environmental sanitation, factory construction, food and entertainment, and other aspects of social responsibility. The results will be uploaded to the BSCI official website in the form of a report.
The professional term for SEDEX factory audit is SMETA audit, which is audited using ETI standards and is applicable to all industries. SEDEX has been favored by many large retailers and manufacturers. Many retailers, supermarkets, brands, suppliers and other organizations require the farms, factories and manufacturers they cooperate with to participate in the SEDEX member ethical management audit to ensure that their operations comply with the requirements of relevant ethical standards. The audit results can be recognized and shared by all SEDEX members, so suppliers can save a lot of repeated audits from customers by accepting SEDEX factory audits
Same point:
1. Both BSCI and Sedex/SMETA belong to the aspect of corporate social responsibility, and they all focus on labor, health and safety, environment, etc.
2. After the BSCI and Sedex/SMETA audits, there are only audit reports, which are uploaded to the system and can be shared and reviewed by customers. Neither of them has a certificate.
difference:
1. Different regions: SEDEX is generally the social responsibility of the UK, BSCI is the EU, SEDEX and BSC have their own member buyers, and generally their member buyers recognize their reports.
2. The contents of factory inspection are not exactly the same:
BSCI certification is an initiative for the business community to comply with the social responsibility audits conducted by social responsibility organizations on global suppliers of BSCI members. BSCI factory audits mainly include: compliance with laws, freedom of association and collective bargaining rights, prohibition of discrimination, compensation, working hours and other issues
SEDEX factory audit also falls into the category of social responsibility factory audit, which mainly audits the supplier's labor, health and safety, and environment, but it also has its own special features, such as the maximum working hours per week.
3. Member groups are not exactly the same:
BSCI certification is mainly for EU customers, mainly in Germany. BSCI has attracted more than 1,000 members from 11 countries, most of whom are European retailers and buyers. SEDEX certification is mainly for European customers, mainly in the UK. The UK and other relevant countries require their subordinate factories to pass SEDEX factory inspections. Both of them are membership systems, and some member customers recognize each other, that is to say, if you have done a BSC inspection or Sedex inspection, some BSCI or SEDEX members will recognize it.
4. Different application methods:
BSCI must be authorized by member buyers before it can be audited, which is the so-called Take RSP. Enterprises cannot apply on their own: Sedex/SMETA can register for membership applications on their own, or they can choose not to register for membership applications. Relatively speaking, SEDEX is simpler
